Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing and sent by email on or before November 10, 2016 in order to receive a full refund.  No refunds will be issued after November 10, 2016.

IFRA North America reserves the right to refuse admission or reject the registration of any person or entity, and to remove the person or entity from the event, each in IFRA North America’s sole discretion  at any time.

Media
IFRANA media credentials may be available to reporters, editors working as reporters, producers, video camera operators and still photographers with valid press identification. Bloggers and other citizen journalists who lack formal press credentials must authenticate their status by providing links to their blogs or media outlets. Applications for IFRANA media credentials should be made by submitting a request to info@ifrana.org. Applications must be approved by IFRANA before the event. IFRANA reserves the right to limit the number of credentials it issues and to refuse entry to its event. Wade Ackerman is a Food, Drug, and Device partner in the Los Angeles office of Covington & Burling LLP. Until June 2016, Mr. Ackerman served as Senior FDA Counsel to the U.S. Senate Health Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee. In this role, he was involved in legislative initiatives, oversight hearings, and other Senate activities concerning the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, including legislation introduced to reform FDA’s authorities over cosmetics. Prior to his role in the Senate, he served for over five years as Associate Chief Counsel in the FDA’s Office of Chief Counsel (OCC), where he was responsible for providing legal advice to FDA program staff and the Office of Commissioner on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. Through more than a decade of experience in private practice and positions within the FDA and on the Hill, Mr. Ackerman has acquired a unique insight into the legal and policy issues surrounding FDA-regulated products.

Julianne joined Statler Nagle after meeting Tom and Jean as a client in her previous role as director of vaccine advocacy for Sanofi Pasteur, and her passion for science, social innovation and public health advocacy continues in her current role. Julianne has not been with the company for nearly five years and has transitioned to the role of Managing Director, leading client engagements, supporting business development, and overseeing company operations.

Julianne brings abundant experience in strategic planning, public affairs, marketing and communications, including broadcast media. She is also skilled in organizational consulting, which is often a critical aspect of our work developing programs that serve the needs of multiple stakeholders within an industry, and in managing the challenges of activist attacks against major industries and companies.

Whip-smart and meticulously attentive to detail, Julianne’s work style is a testament to her illustrious CV as a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College with an MBA from the Yale School of Management. Julianne also completed an Executive Education course at Wharton in leadership and management. Professional credentials aside, Julianne’s greatest assets are her positive outlook, collaborative style, and warm, exuberant personality.

Virginia Cox, JD brings a unique blend of high-level strategic communications skills and first-hand FDA experience to 3D clients.  Before rejoining 3D, Virginia was Associate Commissioner for the Office of External Affairs at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As the FDA’s highest-ranking communications officer, Virginia provided strategic leadership and communications oversight to a wide range of agency activities.   While at the FDA, Cox was responsible for advising the Commissioner and other high-ranking officials on all communications related to FDA policies and activities and managing all media relations, digital media, and stakeholder outreach.

Before becoming Associate Commissioner, Virginia worked at 3D Communications providing strategic communications counsel and tactical support for clients.  Virginia has also served as a special assistant to the HHS Secretary, and as the FDA Commissioner’s director of outreach and strategic initiatives. Prior to that, she was senior vice president for communications and strategic initiatives at the Consumer Healthcare Products Association.  A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Virginia received her law degree from the Georgetown University School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar.  http://3dcommunications.us

Garth Moore is Digital Director for Signal Group, a DC-based Government Affairs and Communication firm. Moore’s team help their clients with digital initiatives, campaigns, and communications.  Prior to joining Signal, he was Senior Digital Director of North America for ONE, Bono’s global anti-poverty organization. Moore started in the digital world at Zagat Survey in New York City in 1996 and worked at a variety of Silicon Alley startups before joining the ASPCA as Senior Digital Director, where he increased online membership and helped drive online fundraising and advocacy efforts. Following the ASPCA, Moore consulted with a number of nonprofit and corporate social responsibility clients and programs, including the ACLU, World Food Programme, YUM! Brands, Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, Case Foundation, and Children’s National Hospital.

Dr. Joseph Perrone
Chief Science Officer
Center for Accountability in Science
Dr. Joseph Perrone is the Chief Science Officer of the Center for Accountability in Science, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing balance to alarmist media stories and NGO campaigns regarding the risks posed by modern technology, medicines, and products. His work is regularly featured by major media outlets, including The Washington Post, TIME Magazine, Reuters, CBS News, Fox News, The Hill, Sacramento Bee, and New York Daily News.

Prior to his position with CAS, Dr. Perrone worked for 13 years with the Becton Dickinson Company where he was responsible for Business development, Sales and Marketing for Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. In that role, he worked closely with funding agencies and Ministries of Health to develop strategies for the use of diagnostics in public health programs. For his work in advancing diagnostics, he served as an advisor to the World Health Organization, served on the WHO Diagnostic Steering Committee, received numerous marketing awards and the R&D 100 award, and has been an invited lecturer and speaker in over fifty countries.

Dr. Perrone has a passion for accuracy in science. He founded the American Type Culture Collection standards development organization, establishing both the ATCC proficiency standards program and having ATCC accredited as a reference material provider by the International Organization for Standardization. His current role with CAS reflects his commitment to promoting scientific knowledge and understanding among the general public.

Dr. Perrone received his Doctorate of Science from The Johns Hopkins University, Post-Doctoral fellowship at Harvard University and his B.S. in Biology from the University of Delaware.

Jean Statler is a co-founder of Statler Nagle LLC, a strategic marketing firm with specialized expertise in issues and industry campaigns. In the over 30 years of working in Washington, DC, she has compiled experience in every aspect of a strategic campaign management.  Once noted by the Wall Street Journal as the “Image Expert” behind many of America’s most successful marketing campaigns, Statler has managed and led more than 10 industry and non-profit campaigns ranging from the American Heart Associations’ advocacy campaign and Robert Wood Johnson’s Covering Kids effort to the American Petroleum Institute’s educational advocacy campaign.
For the 11 years before starting Statler Nagle LLC, she was a Senior Vice President and Business Leader for Harris Interactive (formerly Wirthlin Worldwide) the premier strategic market research firm in Washington, DC. It was Wirthlin Worldwide that established values-based communications as the foundation for campaigns that resulted in changing consumer behavior, not just attitudes. In that capacity, Jean led the market research team that established the strategy for many award-winning and successful national campaigns that either increased market share or favorably re-positioned them to ward off punitive legislation.  Statler developed her entrepreneurial skills when she helped start an advocacy-specific public relations/advertising firm on Capitol Hill, called the DCS Group.
