Fragrance Industry Recognizes Longtime Industry Veteran with Distinguished Service Award

April 6, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – The members of the International Fragrance Association North America
(IFRANA) last night awarded the Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award to James Heinz, CEO and
President of Bell Flavors and Fragrances.

“It is an honor to work in such a beautiful industry focused on science, creativity and sustainability,” said Heinz. “It is a true pleasure to be part of shaping its policy.”

One night every year the U.S. fragrance industry gathers to bestow the award to one colleague and celebrate remarkable efforts in innovation, sustainability and philanthropy at the fragrance association Spring Dinner.

The prestigious Eric Bruell Award was established by the fragrance association members in 1991 to honor one of their fragrance colleagues for exceptional commitment and contribution to the industry at large.

“Jim has been a beacon of the flavor and fragrance industry for over forty-five years, yet his dedication and efforts will forever impact the future for the entire industry,” said Steve Tanner, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IFRANA. “His colleagues in the fragrance industry salute him and extend our deepest gratitude for his energy, creativity and contribution to fragrance.”

“Jim is the kind of member every industry association covets. He engages politically and does
whatever necessary to support critical advocacy efforts,” said Farah K. Ahmed, IFRANA President
and CEO.

The International Fragrance Association North America represents the vast majority of all fragrances developed and sold in the United States and Canada. Its member companies create and manufacture fragrances and scents for home care, personal care, home design and industrial and institutional products, all of which are marketed by consumer goods companies. IFRANA also represents companies that supply fragrance ingredients, such as essential oils and other raw materials, used in perfumery and fragrance mixtures. IFRANA has represented the interests of the fragrance industry in Washington, D.C. since the 1920s.

IFRANA also publishes Fragrance Notes, the quarterly magazine of record for the fragrance industry, available in print through IFRANA and online at
